Course Overview
Course Overview This professional certificate provides practical knowledge and hands-on experience in building perception systems that allow machines to interpret the physical world reliably under operational conditions. Participants will learn the full perception pipeline: sensor selection and calibration, image and point cloud processing, deep learning for detection and segmentation, multispectral and remote sensing analysis, sensor fusion, and the deployment of perception models under real-time latency and power constraints. Particular attention is given to field conditions that defeat laboratory-grade systems, including variable illumination, dust, precipitation, motion blur, calibration drift, and terrain that is visually ambiguous but physically distinct. Through calibration laboratories, model training exercises, dataset workshops, and an applied capstone, participants will develop the competencies required to specify, build, and validate a production perception stack. Suitable For • Computer Vision and Perception Engineers • Machine Learning and Deep Learning Engineers • Robotics and Autonomous Systems Engineers • Remote Sensing and Geospatial Analysts • Agricultural Technology and Precision Farming Teams • Environmental Monitoring Specialists • Drone and UAV Payload Engineers • Inspection, Survey and Asset Monitoring Teams Course Profile Level: Professional Development to Advanced Entry Requirements: Working knowledge of Python and basic familiarity with NumPy. Prior experience with deep learning frameworks is beneficial but not required. A GPU-enabled machine or cloud instance is required for the training laboratories.
